Jozef Lievens is a partner at the corporate law firm Eubelius with offices in Brussels, Kortrijk and Antwerp. He specializes in issues relating to family business succession, governance, ownership strategies and conflicts between family shareholders. Lievens is a co-founder and managing director of the Belgian Institute for the Family Business and of FBNet Belgium. He is the author of the bestselling book “Governance in the Family Business” (published in Dutch, French and Romanian) which was nominated as management book of the year by the Belgian financial newspaper “De Tijd” in 2005.

Jozef Lievens is a Family Firm Institute (Boston) Fellow and holds the first FFI Certificate in Family Wealth Advising. He is a former FFI board member. He teaches family business at the European University College in Brussels. He also teaches executive courses on family business at the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School, the University of Antwerp Management School and the Solvay Business School.

Jozef Lievens holds a law degree (KU Leuven), earned an MBA at Nottingham Trent University and is an alumnus of the PIL courses in negotation and conflict resolution given by Prof. Roger Fisher (Getting to Yes) at Harvard Law School.
